Printing

Alphabet Printing

The printing book that you have is not in alphabetical order.  You can start with the first letter, which is M, and go through the book in the order it is printed.  The first few pages are tracing pages to practice going slowly and staying on the line.  It is better to do a 1 page well, than to do 3 pages sloppy.  Going slowly also helps to control the pencil easier and focus on not pressing too hard, and not holding the pencil too hard.  Your hand should not hurt after printing a page.

Here is what I would like you to do before you start printing each letter.

1. Listen to one of the Alphabet videos below.  Click on the picture you want to listen to, it is a link.

2. Do the ABC chant in French with the video each time you print a letter.  You can also follow along on the cover of your book. Can you do the whole alphabet chant with the actions?  These are the same actions that we did in class.

3. Sing the song with the video each time you print a letter.

Now you are ready to start printing your letter.  When you are done, practice drawing the picture that goes with the letter.  For example, the letter M, has a mouton (sheep) to draw.  Have fun!
